Our dream city is a collaboration between Mexican and Belgium students. We needed to think about an imaginary city in which our mutual dreams about an ideal living environment came together.
To better understand each other and to get a better view of our imaginary city we where instructed to teach each other for once. The Belgium students taught the Mexican students how to code and the
Mexican students taught the Belgium students about public life.
On this website you’ll get to see our project and our dream city.
Enter with caution, you might not want to leave.
To strengthen the story we made, we researched some future-proof technologies to enhance our concept.
This seemed a good way to approach the assignement, since it is literally all about dreaming, so why not dream some images through AI, a recent and modern way of visualizing whatever you want.
After some research on how to prompt for good images, we gave it a shot and used up our free trials on both DALL-E 2 and Midjourney.
Take a look at our dream gallery!
Ofcourse, to make this all work out, it was necessary to contact eachother. As there's a distance of over 9000km between Belgium and Mexico, online meetings seemed the best option to meet on a regular basis.
Because of the great difference in time (no less than 7h!) we sometimes had issues planning the calls but luckily, we managed it most of the time.
Check out our meeting reports below!
During this project we tried to teach part of our skillsets to one another. Through online lessons, the Belgian students taught some of their coding skills, as the Mexican students explained some basics about urban planning.
Feel free to have a look at some of the things we learned.
Our team consists of 6 students from Mexico and 6 students from Belgium. We all have different backgrounds and skills, but we all have one thing in common: we love to learn and we love to teach.
